Flora and Fauna collection

Forever fascinated with flora and fauna, Cartier has turned this fascination into exquisite jewelry. These enchanting creations are created using diamonds, red, green and black enamel scales, platinum and pin support system, a technique the brand has borrowed from the aeronautics industry.

Tank watch

The Tank watch was inspired by military tanks during World War I. It was invented by watchmaker Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin and crafted by Maurice Couet. These pieces of jewelry had glass dials on which the hands appeared to float. This was done to make them appear mechanical.

Cartier is a French luxury house and one of the most prestigious in the world. Founded in 1847, it has become one of the most famous and respected jewelry brands in the world. Its watches are worn by a large number of royalty, including Napoleon I’s niece, Princess Mathilde.

Mystery clocks

Cartier mystery clocks are a popular choice for watch lovers. These timepieces feature platinum or diamond hands that appear detached from the mechanical movement inside. However, this illusion is actually created by a set of rotating gears hidden in a transparent crystal disk.

During the SIHH show in Geneva, Switzerland, Cartier is showcasing 19 new mystery clocks that display its creative range and skilled craftsmanship. Cartier mystery clocks have been around for over a century and were originally inspired by a mistaken book delivered to a watchmaking apprentice in 1912.

In the 1920s, a Polish opera singer named Ganna Walska purchased a Large Portique mystery clock. She was a famous socialite and had created a renowned botanical garden at her Montecito mansion. During the Roaring Twenties, she married six times and was known for her taste in Cartier jewelry.

A Cartier mystery clock is one of the most popular and expensive models. In the 19th century, the first models featured two superimposed dials with day and night indicators. The lower dial was typically a light or dark blue enamel. A diamond crescent moon was often incorporated into the lower dial, serving as the nighttime hour indicator. Another 1912 model featured a rotating comet in a concentric ring.

Mystery clocks are also known as puzzle clocks. These timepieces feature puzzles and other gimmicks that reveal how they operate. Many of these mysterious clocks are very expensive, with the price range ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars.

Tutti Frutti collection

The Tutti Frutti collection from Cartier is one of the most iconic pieces of Cartier jewelry. Designed in the 1920s, the collection combines shapes, volumes and colours. During the Art Deco era, the collection grew in popularity. The brand also began using precious carved gems. These gems, known as ‘foliage’ in the archives, are mounted on platinum, punctuated by black enamel and onyx.

Love bracelet

Cartier is a French luxury house best known for its jewelry. The company is one of the most famous jewelers in the world and is revered worldwide. Featuring the trademark screw motif and a binding closure, the LOVE collection is an expression of free-spirited love.
