If you’ve been looking for a Cartier necklace that will be sure to impress, then you’ve come to the right place. Here you will learn more about the brand’s golden years, David Webb’s stunning necklaces, the Panthere and the Tutti Frutti collection.
Cartier’s golden years
Cartier’s golden years were a time of innovation, combining creativity and craftsmanship. During this period, the Maison expanded into more than 60 countries and opened 200 boutiques, gaining worldwide fame. Cartier drew inspiration from various cultures and countries, resulting in some of the most beautiful and highly sought-after pieces.
The first encounter between Cartier and aboriginal peoples occurred on the north shore of Chaleur Bay. It was believed that these people were the Mi’kmaq, who traded with Cartier. However, these encounters were fleeting and ultimately unsuccessful. Cartier was unable to establish a permanent base in Canada and faced hostility from the First Nations.
Cartier was unable to receive further commissions from the crown, and spent the rest of his life at his estate near Saint-Malo. However, his claim to fame is in his exploration of the St. Lawrence River, where he reached the height of navigation. However, he did not make it all the way to Roberval and failed to reach the Iroquois village.
Cartier was an experienced explorer. He sailed into unknown waters on three voyages and took on native guides. Eventually, he travelled back to Europe with three ships and 110 men. During this time, Cartier’s men died of scurvy, and their arrival in Canada angered the Iroquois population, which led him to capture several of their leaders and return to France.
The next decade saw Cartier expand its business to New York and London. It served wealthy clients from these two cities. During this time, it became the official jeweler of 15 royal households. The company also expanded its presence in the United States by setting up a workshop and showroom in New York.
The third generation of Cartier brought about the golden years for the brand. His sons helped expand the company worldwide, and brought in Jeanne Toussaint and Charles Jacqueau. They also introduced the Santos de Cartier watch, which was the world’s first modern wristwatch.
In addition to its iconic collection of watches, the company developed perfumes and watches. During the 1980s, Cartier created new perfumes and launched new collections, including So Pretty de Cartier and the Tank asymetrique watch. The brand also launched a leather collection in burgundy in 1974. In addition, Les Must de Cartier began offering perfumes and oval pens.
David Webb’s necklaces
David Webb is known for his use of vibrant color and bold silhouettes. His diamond necklaces and earrings showcase glimmering white diamonds and precious stones. His De Beers necklace is inspired by the prima ballerina in Swan Lake and features a detachable diamond pendant.
A cartier necklace is an elegant way to complete your look. These stunning necklaces are often made from 18k Gold or yellow Gold. There are a variety of designs available, including several from the 20th century and contemporary creations.
Cartier’s Panthere
The Panthere De Cartier necklace is a magnificent addition to any woman’s wardrobe. Its rose gold and diamonds make it a beautiful accessory that exudes freedom and power. Its magnetic charm reveals the woman’s strength and character. This necklace is one of the most beautiful in the entire collection of Cartier jewels.
This beautiful necklace is priced at a premium. A panthere de cartier necklace can accentuate any look, whether it’s a casual outfit or a dressy evening look. This necklace is commonly crafted from Gold, 18k Gold, or Yellow Gold. Its price range is remarkably varied, with a few pieces costing less than $2,600 and the most expensive ranging up to $57,000.
Cartier’s Tutti Frutti collection
The Tutti Frutti collection was named after a 1920s-style necklace commissioned by Daisy Fellowes, the heiress of the Singer sewing machine fortune. The necklace was made of various coloured gems including rubies, diamonds and sapphires carved by Fellowes. The necklace sold for a record $2,655,172 at auction, and is now part of the Cartier Collection.
The colourful and fruity theme of Tutti Frutti inspired many jewellers. The art Deco jeweller Paul Flato, for example, created pieces influenced by the collection that were full of colour and carved gemstones. He even referred to them as wiggly jewels, rather than ‘jewellery’.
A dazzling bracelet from the Tutti Frutti collection from Cartier is up for auction on Sotheby’s. The jewel is an icon of art deco jewellery, and has a rich history. It was designed in the 1920s during the craze for Eastern-inspired designs. It is an outstanding example of Cartier’s ability to marry carved gemstones with a platinum-look.
Cartier’s Tutti Frutti collection is very popular among collectors, and many pieces in this collection can fetch over $1 million. The Tutti Frutti collection also includes lapel pins, necklaces, brooches, and clip-on earrings. These pieces are also often cheaper than other Cartier creations.
One of the most famous pieces in the Tutti Frutti collection comes from the 1920s. The design was inspired by the carved gemstones used in Indian jewellery. The first Tutti Frutti necklace was created for Queen Alexandra in 1901. She was the wife of King Edward VII and the Empress Consort of India. In 1911, Jacques Cartier visited India and incorporated the Mughal gemstones into geometric platinum. Enamel patterns were also added to the jewellery.
Cartier has a long history with India. Jacques Cartier first visited the subcontinent in 1911 and searched for gemstones. Upon his return, he was commissioned by the Maharaja of Patiala to re-set the Maharaja of Patiala’s crown jewels. One of the resulting necklaces was made of nearly 3,000 diamonds, including the 234-carat De Beers diamond.
