A Chaumet Pendant For Everyday Or a Statement Piece

A chaumet pendant can be an everyday accessory or a statement piece. They can also be worn for metaphysical reasons, such as for their healing properties or to attract love or money.

The “Liens” motif, which appears very early on in the history of Chaumet, is a part of the Bijoux de Sentiments and Lacs d’Amour tradition – intimate companions, bearers of secret messages, signs of true and enduring friendship, of sworn and therefore unfailing faith.

Ears of wheat

Wheat is one of the most popular and versatile elements for fall decorations. It can be used in wreaths, garlands and centerpieces. It is also a wonderful decoration for your kitchen.

The ears of wheat are a symbol of fertility and abundance in several cultures. In Ancient Egypt, they were represented in sheaves as a sign of power to the gods of agriculture; in Hittite culture, the wheat ear was a talisman and a representation of prosperity. Its symbolism is found in various parts of the world, such as Japan, Korea and the Mayan culture.

As part of the new La Nature de Chaumet collection, a ring and brooch with glittering grains of wheat in diamonds are presented. The pieces are inspired by the tiara that Empress Josephine wore during her coronation in 1911, and by a ring from the 1980s.

These motifs, which are now in the Maison’s archives, were chosen to represent the four main themes of La Nature: Le Laurier (the laurel), Le Chene (the oak), Le Lys (the lily) and wheat. The latter is a favourite of the Maison, since it was an emblem of Empress Josephine, and one of her favourite flowers.

Using this symbolism, the artisans of Chaumet have created an exceptional series of jewellery pieces that are not only one-of-a-kind, but also incredibly unique: the limited-edition L’Epi de Ble rings. They are set with large and beautiful collector-quality diamonds representing the florets of the wheat. Moreover, the dazzling orangey pink hues of rare Ceylon Padparadscha sapphires lend them a sunny radiance.

This new Fine Jewellery line pays homage to the precious wheat motif, one of the emblems that Empress Josephine embraced, and which she regularly revisited on her court dresses and jewelry items. The delicate lines of the pendants endow the precious wheat motif with naturalistic depth, while chiselled with captivating intricate detail.

In a hyper-naturalist tradition, burnished yellow gold contrasts with brushed gold to highlight the shimmering grains of wheat. The pendants are available in a simple version or with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds, which are the lucky number of the Maison.

Liens evidence

Founded in 1780 and still family owned today, Paris-based luxury jeweler Chaumet has a rich history. The brand is part of the LVMH group and continues to operate its high jewelry workshop and salons in Place Vendome.

For over two centuries, the house has crafted exquisite jewellery to suit changing fashions and tastes. Aside from its signature engraved gold obelisks, the company also offers an extensive collection of gemstone encrusted rings, necklaces and earrings.

“At the heart of every creation is a tryst with nature,” says Beatrice de Plinval, curator of the Maison’s museum and archives. “From the start, we’ve incorporated a variety of naturalism-inspired motifs, such as hawthornes, wheat sheaves and acanthus leaves.”

Another example of the brand’s love of the outdoors is this Hortensia “Eden” pendant featuring a dazzling array of mandarin and hessonite garnets, pink sapphires, tourmalines, topazes, yellow diamonds and green malachite. The glitzy model features an 18-carat rose gold and diamond topped 42cm chain with several rings that help it adjust to fit your neck.

The pièce de résistance, however, is this patented and proprietary ring that features the aforementioned encrusted diamonds. The piece is crafted from mirror-polished gold facets and diamond honeycombs.

Considering the price and rarity of a piece like this, it’s not surprising that it hasn’t made its way into the mainstream consciousness. But it does have an interesting claim to fame: it’s the first of its kind in the world. And it’s certainly the most expensive one of its kind.

La nature de chaumet

Slender stems carrying flowers, ethereal leaves curled around fruit, wild grasses harbouring insects and golden harvests in summer splendour: nature interpreted by Chaumet teems with life. Ever since its beginnings, the Maison has depicted a natural world that is free and gracious, vibrant and generous; a world where ancestral savoir-faire combines with a vital elegance of style to create its unique identity.

In the tradition of this symbolic garden, Chaumet’s craftsmen take inspiration from the natural world, using its colours and complexities to reinvent jewellery of uncompromising quality. The ear of wheat, the flower of innocence, the lily, the oak and the rose: these attributes from classical mythology have been interpreted by the Maison through time, and they continue to play an essential role in the brand’s designs.

The ear of wheat is a symbol of life, the earth’s bounty and the golden days of harvest. It is a motif that has been regularly featured in the earliest designs of the Maison, and it is also the favourite motif of its muse, Empress Josephine.

This Hortensia “Astres d’Or” necklace is a tribute to the beautiful flower, with its delicate chain adorned with several four- and five-petal flowers of different sizes, generously paved with diamonds. The shiny warm-tone gold and the sparkling precious stones create a harmonious unity that will adorn every sophisticated look.

Like the ear of wheat, the rose is a symbol of love and immortality. It also celebrates the suppleness of femininity and is reminiscent of Apollo and Daphne’s love chase. The collection reveals its sensual side with the symphony of hues that it presents, from translucent purity to fiery passion.

The lily is a feminine flower, whose beauty is both delicate and dazzling. A graphic composition is evoked in the white Songe de nuit set, while the Etoiles boreales creations are reminiscent of a romantic garden with their fire of cabochon-cut black opals playing against Paraiba tourmalines and yellow and violet sapphires.

In the symphony of motifs, each theme of the La Nature de Chaumet collection reinterprets the Maison’s founding sources of inspiration. The laurel, the ear of wheat, the oak and the lily represent the flawless equilibrium between nature and culture and are imbued with an emblematic power in refined naturalism.

Jeux de liens harmony

The Jeux de Liens Harmony collection celebrates the link between two people through a contemporary reinterpretation of a universal symbol of unity and perfection, the circle. Crafted from pretty rose gold, this asymmetric pendant features a mother-of-pearl heart encrusted with diamonds and is strung from an adjustable chain.

These sentimental medallions can be engraved on the reverse side, so they’re a unique gift for a loved one that can be worn against the heart. They’re available in three different pendant designs and can be layered with other chaumet pieces for a look that’s all your own.

This necklace is crafted from 18k rose gold and is adorned with round-cut diamonds. It has a lobster clasp and is able to be adjusted to the correct length.

A strong contemporary sentimental jewel, this piece is a perfect addition to any woman’s jewellery collection. Its asymmetric circular pendant and diamond-studded Jeux de Liens links make it stand out from the crowd, and its pretty pink gold finish gives it a subtle, elegant finish.

It’s a beautiful piece that will never go out of style, so it’s perfect for those who love to mix and match. It’s also great for those who want to add a French touch to their jewelry collection.

The Hortensia Eden collection from Chaumet is a tribute to the iconic flower and combines rose gold with colourful natural stones, such as malachite. This beautiful piece is a stunning way to add a little bit of nature into your daily life.

In an asymmetric spirit, the new creations of the Jeux de Liens Harmony collection combine symbolic cross-links from the Jeux de Liens collection with an asymmetrical circle for the first time. The result is a strong contemporary sentimental jewel that expresses simplicity and true romance.

Whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary, or any other important occasion, these delicate necklaces are the perfect way to mark it. A simple and elegant piece that’s sure to dazzle, they come in a variety of shades to suit any style.
