Cartier’s Tutti Frutti collection

The Tutti Frutti collection was inspired by the colourful style of Art Deco. The jewellery featured a variety of brightly-coloured gems in geometric shapes. These pieces have long been popular among collectors. On 28 November 2020, one of the jewels from this collection will be auctioned off in Hong Kong.

The Tutti Frutti style is one of Cartier’s most iconic collections. The designs incorporate vibrant gemstones and striking carvings. They date back to the early 1900s, when Queen Alexandra, wife of King Edward VII, and Empress of India, commissioned jewellery by the Parisian house. The necklace was adorned with rubies and emeralds.

One piece from this collection is a rock crystal bowl of fruit with gems. It was made between 1910 and 1915 and sold for EUR12,200 in 2004. The design is a foreshadowing of the tutti frutti era, which lasted from 1925 to 1940. The tutti frutti style marked a change from the white-dominated Art Deco era. It began with a small brigade of jewelers in boaters and white linen suits. After the 1920s, the craze for brightly-coloured jewelry became more widespread, resulting in more pieces coming on the market.

The Tutti Frutti collection is considered a holy grail for jewellery collectors. It has close links to the Indian jewellery tradition and has an enviable reputation among collectors. The Cartier Tutti Frutti collection is a true work of art and is highly sought-after.

The mystery clocks

Despite their fame, Cartier’s Mystery Clocks still retain a sense of mystery. This is due to the fact that the company doesn’t disclose the exact number of pieces that have been made. The hands of the clock appear to float in space while rotating in an exhibition setting. Cartier created 19 such pieces, dating from 1912 to 1967.

The most famous mystery clocks are made of platinum or gold. They have intricately detailed faces and are made of precious metals. The single-axle mystery clock, for instance, is made of platinum. The case is shaped like a single axle, with the face of the clock set in rock crystal. The crystals are set with rose-cut diamonds and sapphire cabochons. The dial features white enamel.

The Cartier mystery clocks are considered to be some of the company’s greatest achievements. A model of this style was presented to Queen Mary in 1924. A model of this style was also presented to Joseph Stalin in 1945. The first Cartier Mystery Clock was made in 1912. It had two dials superimposed on one another, each with a day-night indicator. The lower dial, usually made of light or dark blue enamel, rotated to show the sky during the day. At night, the upper dial displayed a diamond crescent moon.

The Tutti Frutti bracelet

Cartier’s tutti frutti designs are arguably their most famous. They are considered the perfect combination of East and West. These designs combine colorful gemstones, often carved in the traditional way, with French platinum or diamond mountings. Cartier’s creations are often more than $1 million in price at Sotheby’s auctions.

In 1924, Queen Alexandra commissioned the jeweler Pierre Cartier to create a unique necklace. The necklace was to be worn with three Indian dresses that she had received from the wife of the Viceroy of India. This necklace was a masterpiece of artistic design, blending the vivid colors of the Mughal textiles with the modern skills of jewelry makers. This piece led to future royal commissions and inspired future works by Cartier.

The Tutti Frutti

Cartier is a French luxury house and one of the most popular and respected jewelry manufacturers in the world. This necklace is a stunning example of the Tutti Frutti design. The necklace features carved sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds.

The Tutti Frutti style was first created by Pierre Cartier in 1901. Queen Alexandra commissioned the first piece. The style is considered the perfect blend of East and West, featuring brightly colored gemstones carved in India and set in French platinum or diamond mountings. It was not until the 1970s that this design became widely popular. In 1911, Cartier’s brother Jacques visited India and brought back the design.
