Cartier is one of the most iconic jewelry brands in the world, and their designs are timeless. The Panthere collection is just one of the iconic pieces that have made this brand so famous. Other collections include The Tutti Frutti and The Love bracelet.
Cartier’s golden years
In its golden years, the French luxury jeweler Cartier produced a wide range of exquisite pieces, from delicate earrings to the finest necklaces and bracelets. The brand’s influence was felt throughout the world, and its customers were able to live the Cartier lifestyle. Moreover, many of them were able to learn from the company’s exemplary quality and enduring excellence.
In the early twentieth century, the company expanded and established branches in London and New York, where it served an elite clientele. It produced 27 tiaras for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902. This spurred numerous commissions from leading families in England, and Cartier gained a permanent presence in London. In 1904, the company was awarded the first of fifteen royal warrants, and the London branch grew rapidly under Jacques Cartier’s leadership.
The iconic panther motif was Cartier’s signature motif for many years. It first appeared on a wristwatch in 1914. Jeanne Toussaint was the first designer to interpret the panther as a feminine motif, and the cat quickly became a key feature of many Cartier creations.
The new discovery also proved to be beneficial for Cartier. In his efforts to reach the west, he had made contact with native Americans on Prince Edward Island. He even forced Native guides to follow him as he sailed northwest to Anticosti Island. After reaching the island, he believed that he had discovered a sea route to Asia, but this was never confirmed. Eventually, he returned to France without any further details.
After his return to Charlesbourg-Royal, Cartier was assigned the task of setting up a colony in North America. However, the French war in Europe delayed the mission for nearly a year. In the meantime, he returned to Quebec and briefly established a French settlement in the region. However, the expedition encountered many difficulties, including a hostile Indian tribe who attacked the Frenchmen. In the aftermath, Cartier had grown to the conclusion that he had insufficient manpower to support his mission.
The Panthere collection
A Cartier Panthere watch is a great way to add diamonds to your look without breaking the bank. There are several types to choose from in the Panthere collection, including diamond and non-diamond versions. The non-diamond model is available for under three thousand dollars, while the diamond-encrusted watch will cost more than seven thousand dollars.
The Cartier Panthere collection is designed with flexibility in mind. It features sinuous and magnetic hinges for a comfortable fit. Available in white gold or yellow gold, this necklace is a classic choice. It features onyx and diamonds encrusted on a black lacquer background.
The Cartier Panthere collection has become one of the most iconic and classic collections. Its cat-like design is instantly recognizable, and its flawless stones and precious metals are sure to draw attention to the wearer. The collection includes necklaces, bracelets, and watches that are made in the hallmark Cartier style.
Founded in 1847, Cartier quickly became an iconic luxury brand. Its name was inspired by a watercolor by George Barbier, entitled ‘Dame a la Panthere’. The encrusted panther is adorned with diamonds and a diamond-encrusted collar. The iconic design symbolized the brand and its commitment to luxury.
The Tutti Frutti collection
The Tutti Frutti collection by Cartier is a homage to the art of blending volumes, colours and shapes. The collection originated in the 1920s and draws inspiration from India. The brand has a love of combining precious carved gems with platinum, and these pieces are often punctuated by black enamel and onyx.
The Panthre de Cartier Necklace is a beautiful piece for everyday wear, but it can also be worn as a dressier accessory. With a sculpted design that is perfect for the neckline, this piece is versatile and will compliment your outfit. It is available in both yellow gold and white gold and features black lacquer spots, diamonds, and onyx.
The collection was launched in Madrid, Spain, and Singapore has been a fitting venue. The Capella Singapore has been transformed into an exhibition space, with mystical arches beckoning curious visitors to explore the thematic salons. Approximately 200 creations are showcased in this exhibition, and Tatler was lucky enough to see several up close. The scenography gives the collection a whimsical, otherworldly feel. Cartier worked with Spanish artist Jaime Hayon to design this installation.
The Tutti Frutti collection is one of Cartier’s most recognizable collections. Its colorful carved gemstones made this collection popular throughout the Art Deco era. It also features the panthere motif, and modernist locking bangle. Although Pierre Cartier passed away in 1964, the Cartier family continues to innovate and design jewelry for modern women and men.
The Love bracelet
A contemporary locking bangle featuring a sculpted motif evokes the symbolism of love. The Panthre de Cartier Love bracelet is a beautiful, timeless gift for the woman of your dreams. It is made of 18-karat white gold and features diamonds in a beautiful setting. This exquisite piece will add glamour to your ensemble.
Price ranges vary depending on the gemstone used, time period, and other characteristics of the piece. A single piece of Cartier jewelry can be as low as $5,300, while a whole set can cost up to $212,346. The average Cartier bracelet can fetch around $6,447.
The Tank watch
The Tank watch is inspired by the design of military tanks during World War I. It is a creation of the watchmaker Jean-Eugene Robert-Houdin and his assistant Maurice Couet. The watch had a glass dial where the hands appeared to float. It was designed to resemble an analog clock, but it actually was mechanical.
The price range for this watch ranges from under 1,200 USD for a pre-owned stainless steel version to more than 100,000 USD for a platinum or gold timepiece with diamonds. The case is 37 mm in diameter and has tempered blue hour and minute hands. It is a very opulent timepiece, weighing up to 7.8 carats.
