Van Cleef & Arpels: The New High Diamond Jewelry Collection – Legend of Diamonds

Known for its legendary expertise, Van Cleef & Arpels has released a new high jewelry collection titled “Legend of Diamonds”. In this collection, the House of Arpels showcases its expertise in making exceptional creations. With more than 107 pieces, the collection features gems cut from the Lesotho Legend diamond, which was recently purchased by Van Cleef & Arpels.

The Lesotho Legend diamond is one of the largest rough diamonds found to date. The diamond, which was purchased by Van Cleef & Apels in 2018, weighed 910 carats when uncut. The diamond is a rare D color and was deemed to be the fifth largest rough diamond ever found. The diamond is free of any inclusions and has beautiful crystallization. The rough diamond was presented to the House by diamond dealer Tache.

Van Cleef & Arpels worked with a leading diamond cutter to create the diamond. The rough diamond was cut into 67 stones. The stones were then set into the jewelry using the Mystery Set technique. This technique is also known as the invisible setting. The Mystery Set technique creates a solid chevron of emeralds framed by sapphires. The stones are then polished to create a soft relief. The Mystery Set technique was patented by Van Cleef & Arpels in 1933.

The jewels in the Legend of Diamonds collection feature dynamic lines and asymmetrical compositions. The pieces were inspired by the work of Van Cleef & Arpels designers and gemologists. The designs incorporate a variety of techniques including the Mystery Set and Serti Mysterieux. The latter involves mounting the stones into thin gold rails to conceal the prongs. The rails are less than two-tenths of a millimeter wide.

The collection features a variety of gemstones, including white and pink diamonds. The collection is comprised of two chapters: “White Diamond Variations” and “25 Mystery Set Jewels”. The first chapter features 82 pieces highlighting the evolution of Art Deco. The second chapter features 82 pieces featuring white diamonds. The collection also features a “Duo Mysterieux Between the Finger” ring featuring two emerald-cut diamonds.

The pieces in the collection include the Floraison de Diamant’s white gold bracelet. The bracelet features a diamond-paved band and a flower centre. The bracelet’s open-worked design is reminiscent of the twill fabric designs of the 1950s. The bracelet has an Art Deco appearance. The piece also features rows of buff-topped rubies and pink sapphires. The pink sapphires add delicate shades.

The collection also features the Optical Wonder, a seven-piece parure that pays homage to Victor Vasarely. The Optical Wonder is available in white and pink. It features a fancy intense pink diamond from the Natural Works of Art collection. This necklace can be broken into six pieces. It also features a flexible diamond collar. The necklace also includes a 15-carat Sri Lankan sapphire pendant.

Cartier’s Golden Years

Founded in 1847 in Paris by Louis-Francois Cartier, the House of Cartier is a leading designer and manufacturer of luxury jewelry. The firm has an international presence with more than 200 stores in 125 countries. They have earned a reputation for creating elegant and stylish pieces with the use of fine materials such as diamonds, gold, and gemstones. The Cartier name became synonymous with luxury. It was also the first jewelry company to create a wristwatch. Cartier wristwatches are often considered as trendy jewelry items in the early 1900s.

Cartier’s golden years began when Alfred Cartier’s sons started expanding the company’s global reach. King Edward VII of Great Britain called Cartier “the jeweller of kings.” The company was an official purveyor to the court of the king and his family, producing 27 tiaras for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902. The firm also received royal warrants from King Edward VII and King Francis I of France. The warrants were similar to those that were received from the House of Orleans and Portugal. The firm also had a strong presence in London and New York.

Initially, Cartier’s firm faced difficulties in the financial industry. They relied on specialist workshops for some pieces. He also commissioned numerous pieces for leading families in England. These pieces included the “big cat” jewels made for the Duchess of Windsor, as well as the Belle Epoque garland necklace in Platinum made for King Edward VI. Cartier also received the first of fifteen royal warrants from the king in 1904.

During the golden years, Cartier grew his reputation as a master jeweller. He served as an official jeweler to fifteen royal households. They included the royal family of France, the English royal family, and the House of Orleans. He also had a close relationship with the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Cartier also designed jewelry for Princess Mathilde Bonaparte, the niece of Napoleon Bonaparte. Cartier also had a personal interest in Egyptian faience and used it in his designs.

In addition to serving as an official purveyor to the court of the king, Cartier began producing iconic Tutti Frutti jewelry pieces. These pieces were characterized by unusual color combinations and contrasting materials. These pieces are still highly prized today. Cartier’s tutti frutti jewelry is often referred to as the “tiger” jewelry style.

In addition to their work as jewelers, Cartier’s men were often greeted as heroes by the local First Nations people. However, the relationship between the Cartier crew and the local Iroquois people deteriorated. Cartier’s men were known to intimidate and harass the local First Nations people. The crew also aroused the local population’s suspicion.

In the early years, it is believed that Cartier had multiple voyages across the Atlantic Ocean. He is also believed to have visited Brazil as a young man.
