Classic Cartier earring designs

Whether you prefer classic Cartier earrings or a dazzling pair of modern earrings, there’s a piece for everyone. These elegant pieces showcase the house’s unique style and savoir-faire, while also blending Neo-classical elements with traditional eighteenth-century motifs.

Cartier jewelry has been popular with royalty for more than a century. They’ve been worn by the British Royal Family, as well as royalty from across the world. Among the famous royals who wear Cartier jewelry are the Duchess of Windsor, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, Princess Diana, and many others.

The Cartier firm was founded in Paris by Louis-Francois Cartier in 1847. He was the son of a famous diamond merchant. He had three sons, Louis, Jacques, and Pierre. Pierre became the director of the Paris branch, while Jacques was the director of the London branch. The family expanded the company and opened a third branch in New York City.

Cartier jewelry is known for its creative designs, unique pieces, and stunning stones. In the 1930s, Cartier created Modernist jewelry that was very distinctive. The jewelry featured interlocking gold bracelets and a “gas pipe” gold element. They also used sapphires and diamonds, and sometimes rock crystal. The black and white style was also popular in the 1920s.

Cartier jewelry was also popular with the wealthy Americans who traveled to Europe in the early twentieth century. They often acquired the jewelry from a number of importers. The platinum that Cartier used was brittle and had a high melting point. It was also used in jewelry for mourning during the First World War.

Cartier also designed jewelry for Princess Mathilde Bonaparte, the niece of Napoleon Bonaparte. She began commissioning Cartier accessories in the late 1850s. Cartier bracelets were also popular with the royal family.

The Cartier firm also introduced platinum to jewelry making in Europe. The company also served royalty from India, the Middle East, and China. It was a key jeweler for King Edward VII’s coronation in 1902. In 2002, Queen Elizabeth II inherited Cartier-designed pear-drop diamond earrings from her mother, the Queen Mother.

Classic Cartier earring designs are still popular today. They’re worn by royalty and celebrities on the red carpets.

Art Deco-style earring designs

During the Art Deco era, French jewelry designer Cartier showcased some of the most impressive pieces on the market. The House of Cartier has been designing jewelry for the rich and famous for centuries. The iconic Tutti Frutti collection, which grew in popularity during the Art Deco period, boasted colorful carved gemstones in all their splendor.

In addition to its colorful gemstones, the Tutti Frutti collection also featured the most impressive of all Art Deco jewelry innovations: the bangle. Known as the Love bracelet, this was a modernist locking bangle.

It was not a surprise that the bangle was the rage during the Jazz Age, which also saw the introduction of the upper arm bracelet. This was a convenient way to wear sleeveless dresses.

The most popular gemstones used for bracelets in the era were pearls, coral, turquoise and lapis lazuli. Emeralds, rubies and sapphires were also used. Interestingly, the most expensive Art Deco necklaces also incorporated diamonds, which was a bit of a novelty at the time.

The aforementioned bangle, the aforementioned ring, and the aforementioned necklace are just a few of the most impressive of the bunch. Cartier is one of the few jewelers that actually manufactures true-to-life Art Deco pieces. Tutti Frutti collection

During the Art Deco era, Cartier became known for their Tutti Frutti collection. This line featured colorful carved gemstones. The most famous example of the line was the Collier Hindou necklace, commissioned by Daisy Fellowes. It featured diamonds, rubies and emeralds. It was constructed from Fellowes’s own carved stones.

The Cartier family sold the business after Pierre’s death in 1964. During the golden years of the company, Alfred’s sons expanded the company internationally. They brought in jewelers like Charles Jacqueau and Jeanne Toussaint. These men are responsible for the growth of Cartier and its international reputation.

Although the company is no longer run by the family, their legacy has never been forgotten. Cartier’s earrings are still popular and have a high demand. They are available on the market in both men’s and women’s styles. They typically sell for $9,358 on average at 1stDibs.
