Chaumet’s salons and high jewelry workshop operate in the Place Vendome

Maison Chaumet opened its first shop in the Place Vendome in 1812. Originally located next to the Ritz, it moved to 12 Place Vendome in 1907. The place offers a view of the Vendome Column, which was erected by Napoleon to honor the Battle of Austerlitz. The shop houses a high jewelry workshop and salons, as well as a beautiful staircase.

The Place Vendome is also the home of the Maison Chaumet, a luxury jewelry and watchmaking house founded in 1780. It is the official jeweler of Empress Josephine, and employs 14 artisans in the Place Vendome. The Maison Chaumet’s salons and high jewelry workshops are also housed in the building.

The high jewelry workshop is located in the same building as Chaumet’s flagship boutique, at No. 12. The interior designers have created an elegant blend of modernity and tradition, while incorporating symbols and emblematic imagery of the House into the design. Chaumet’s Harmony collection introduces three new rose gold talismans in the form of medallions, featuring the auspicious symbol of the circle and the famous diamond-set “X”. The collection includes a large, medium, and small turquoise model, each one featuring a different gemstone.

The jewelery house has been making tiaras and other pieces for 240 years and is best known for its aristocratic designs. Its Lacis tiara, for example, employs its signature fil-couteau setting to create the illusion of floating diamonds.
