Tiffany Schlumberger Sixteen Stone Ring
The Tiffany Schlumberger Sixteen Stone Ring features sixteen stones, including green tsavorites. The piece is a great example of the early work of the famous jewelry designer. The ring’s design incorporates a beautiful swirl pattern, which adds a unique touch.
Tiffany Schlumberger’s early jewelry
Tiffany Schlumberger’s early jewelry design work was influenced by her travels to exotic places. She created pieces featuring jewelled animals and sea creatures. These pieces were popular with the leading ladies of fashion. As her reputation grew, she was approached by Tiffany & Co. and was able to have her own department in their Fifth Avenue store. She also became one of the company’s Vice-Presidents.
Some of her early designs include the Bird on a Rock pendant, which features a glittering diamond bird. Another popular piece is the Two Fruit clip, which features diamonds and rubies. Some of her designs are still being produced today. Schlumberger’s early jewelry was also worn by celebrities like Jacqueline Kennedy, who wore one of her pieces.
Schlumberger crafted exquisite pieces during her early career. She grew up in France, in a wealthy textile family. After graduating from high school, she was sent to Paris to further her studies in the field of art. In Paris, she spent time with many artists, including Salvador Dali, Man Ray, and Jean Cocteau. She also collected porcelain flowers from flea markets and crafted them into brooches. She gave these creations away to friends and acquaintances. Eventually, she was hired by the famous courturiere Elsa Schiaparelli to design buttons for her.
Many of Jean Schlumberger’s early pieces are still in production today. Other famous artists and designers signed their creations for Tiffany & Co. and their names will live on in his legacy. In addition to Tiffany, Schlumberger’s collection also includes designs by Frank Gehry, Elsa Peretti, and Paloma Picasso. A number of these works will be available at the upcoming auction of Mrs. Charles R. Wood’s estate.
