Van Cleef & Arpels Clip Caresse dEole Zip Collection

This week Van Cleef & Arpels launched their new Zip necklace collection. It features designs in Hirondelles, Souffle des Nuages and Caresse dEole. The necklace is available online and in select boutiques.

Souffle des Nuages

The Souffle des Nuages Van Cleef & Arpels clip is one of the more dazzling items the company has to offer. Aside from the fact that it is a convertible necklace, it also includes an air-dragon – a Chinese symbol of good fortune. This piece has an impressive design, but you will have to pay a small fortune to wear it.

The Souffle des Nuages necklace is a piece of art, but it is not the only creative piece the company presented at Design Days Dubai. In addition to the Souffle des Nuages, the brand also introduced the Zip necklace, the clip Caresse dEole, and a variety of other multi-functional designs. These items prove that the company has a knack for creating items that stand out while allowing its designers to make the most of their creativity.

Hirondelles

The Hirondelles necklace is one of the many beautiful pieces of jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels. The chain features grey Tahitian pearls and diamonds. Its clever central clips can be detached and used as a multi-way necklace. A nice bonus is that it’s a very functional piece of jewelry, and the best part is, the company offers a lifetime guarantee on all their fine jewellery.

Other notable pieces of jewellery from the French luxury brand include the aforementioned Hirondelles and the Souffle des Nuages, a necklace crafted from a combination of Afghan emeralds and diamonds. This collection was fashioned in homage to the legendary necklaces of yore, and the company’s artistic director, Renee Puissant, says she is inspired to recreate the look from a more contemporary context.

Zip necklace

The Van Cleef & Arpels clip Caresse dEole Zip necklace is a piece of jewellery that can be worn in several ways. It can be zipped up and used as a bracelet or it can be worn without the zip and can be detached from the central clips. In 2005, a version of the Zip was created with a pearl and in 2011, a Paris Champ de Mars version was introduced.

The Van Cleef & Arpels Souffle des Nuages Necklace is made from Afghan emeralds, grey Tahitian pearls and diamonds. Its design depicts clouds and an air-dragon, which is a symbol of good fortune in China. A necklace from the collection is available in a variety of different designs, including one that shows a swallow flying.

Another piece of jewellery from the collection, the Hirondelles Necklace, features gray Tahitian pearls, diamonds and swallows. This piece is also available in a variation that is set with a white diamond. Both of these pieces were first designed by Renee Puissant, the artistic director of the Maison. She was inspired by the work of Wallis Simpson, a style icon from the era of Edward VIII.

Caresse dEole

Van Cleef & Arpels is a famous French luxury jewelry brand that was established in 1896. The brand was founded by Dutch diamond cutter Alfred Van Cleef. Today, the company has boutiques in Japan, China, and South East Asia. They also have a boutique in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1999, the company was acquired by Compagnie Financière Richemont SA.

The brand’s designs have been worn by royalty, celebrities, and even a pre-term infant. The “Lion Barquerolles” set, for example, was presented to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton. It featured a pair of earrings and a choker that sported a lion head motif. The set sold for USD 900,000 at Christie’s auction.

As a part of the company’s commitment to aspiring designers, Van Cleef & Arpels has partnered with Tashkeel, a Dubai-based independent resource for artists. The two companies worked together in organizing a design contest. After selecting a winner, the winning entry was displayed at the Tashkeel gallery.

Another example of Van Cleef & Arpels’s innovative pieces is the patented Mystery Set technique. This technique, which was developed by the company in 1933, conceals a precious metal claw setting in order to highlight the brilliance of the gemstone. Many of the jewelers’ pieces are made of rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. Whether you’re looking for a statement piece or something that can be dressed up or down, you’re sure to find the perfect piece at Van Cleef & Arpels.

Design contest

Van Cleef & Arpels have partnered with the Design Days Dubai in presenting an impressive set of innovative transformable pieces. These include the Zip, Secret, and Passe-Partout collection. The best part about it is that you can actually wear all these pieces simultaneously, without having to relegate any of them to the bottom of your bag. This type of jewelry has become more popular in recent years, especially with the growing affluence of Dubai’s millennials.

Among the many awards won at the competition was the first prize, which was a clip caresse dEole in the form of a small gold bracelet. Designed by Renee Puissant, the artistic director of the Maison, the clip caresse dEole is actually a very simple and elegant pendant whose charm is concealed by a finely crafted jewel of a claw setting.
