Van Cleef & Arpels have launched a new high jewellery collection inspired by four Grimm fairy tales. The collection, aptly named ‘Quatre Contes de Grimm’, pays homage to the magic of the fabled fairy tales, as well as the rich landscapes and mythical characters of each story. In addition to this, the pieces feature innovative techniques.

In order to create these creations, Van Cleef & Arpels utilised a technique called ‘Mystery Set’. This technique conceals the metal setting of the stones. With this technique, the gemstones are infused with an air of mystery. It evokes images of meteors and nebulae. Moreover, it brings out the brilliance of the stones.

The Quatre Contes de Grimm collection features pieces that pay homage to the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm. These stories were written by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in the early 1800s. Each piece retells one of the stories. Some of the stories include:

‘The Twelve Dancing Princesses’: The twelve princesses are reimagined as jewelry. Each piece has a unique name and is embellished with yellow diamonds.
