La Boutique collection

Van Cleef & Arpels has been making jewellery for the elite since its founding in 1903. From the moment they opened their first shop in Paris in 1906, the company has been associated with some of the most prestigious personalities of the day. They have created jewels for celebrities and royals and also offer a fine jewellery range to the average consumer.

The Alhambra motif is one of the most iconic symbols of Van Cleef & Arpels. It is the name of the company’s signature collection and has been updated over the years. This motif has featured in various special capsule collections. However, it has become an instantly recognisable symbol of the brand. Featuring an assortment of gems in different colours and cuts, the collection has been refreshed over the past 50 years.

The Spirit of Beauty Dragonfly Fairy brooch is a good example of a piece made by the brand. It features a series of poses surrounded by rows of diamonds and gemstones. In addition, the piece is stamped with the Van Cleef & Arpels signature.

Another of the brand’s signature pieces is the Zip necklace. Using a sliding clasp and small gold cups, the piece connects in a unique way. Many of these have been adorned with sapphires and diamonds. Other examples have been crafted in platinum and gold.

Other notable pieces from the Van Cleef & Arpels catalogue include the Ballerina brooch. This brooch was commissioned by Eva Peron and was estimated to be worth $80,000-120,000. The piece is an elaborate design, with an emerald set in gold. It was sold at Christie’s in 1998.

In the mid-1950s, Van Cleef & Arpels started to produce more accessible fine jewellery designs. One of the first to make this move was the mystery set. This technique allows for stones to be set without prongs. Originally used for minaudieres, the mystery set allowed for swathes of colour to be inserted into a piece without any metal flash. A variety of imitations have been produced since its invention.

While Van Cleef & Arpels may have changed over the past half century, their jewellery has remained as popular today as it was when it was founded.

The School of Jewelry Arts

Van Cleef & Arpels’ L’Ecole School of Jewelry Arts is returning to New York. After a three year hiatus, the program will return to the Big Apple to offer a series of classes and workshops. The programs are a comprehensive immersion into the world of jewelry. They are designed for both beginners and experienced artisans.

L’Ecole offers a diverse selection of classes, lectures, conferences, and exhibitions. Each program is taught by leading experts in their fields. In addition to the classroom experience, the school offers virtual courses that can be streamed from home. A variety of books, videos, and publications are also available.

This fall’s program will include a number of exhibitions and evening discussions. For example, “The Art of Crafting Gold” will explore centuries of gold craftsmanship and cover four main goldwork techniques. Similarly, “The Universe of Gemstones” will explain the origins and history of gems. There are also several “Savoir-Faire” classes, which will allow students to handle materials and learn about setting and handling tools.

As with the other workshops and seminars, visitors will have the opportunity to take multiple courses. Each will last between two and four hours. Some of the courses are free, while others are priced. Participants range from five to 85 years old.

Van Cleef & Arpels’ sponsorship of the L’Ecole School of Jewelry Arts also embeds the brand name in the culture of luxury jewelry. Through the school, the company hopes to bring the evolution of jewelry to light. Traditionally, the evolution of jewelry has been traced by artisan skills and institutions.

The school’s founder, Marie Vallanet-Delhom, is a veteran of the jewelry industry, having worked at Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. She has been active in jewelry education since its inception. During her tenure, she has combined academic research and public discussions.

During the three days, participants will have the opportunity to attend eight evening events. Two of the evening talks are with Van Cleef & Arpels executives, while the other three are with artists. These talks will cost $25 each.

There are also three free exhibitions to take in. These include Daniel Brush’s 117 chokers and bangles, which were inspired by bracelets and rings.

The ambassador of good luck

Whether you’re a jewelry collector or simply interested in purchasing a piece of fine jewelry, you may have heard of Van Cleef & Arpels. This French luxury brand has been showcasing their wares for almost a century. From watches to fragrances to jewelry to talismans, you’ll find plenty of pieces to satisfy your lust for fine craftsmanship.

One of the most popular designs from Van Cleef & Arpels is their Alhambra collection. The name Alhambra is derived from the Arabic word for “red fort” or al-qal’a al-hamra. In fact, this 8th-century Moorish palace is the only remaining royal territorial center of the Islamic Golden Age. While the palace is no longer intact, it is a popular place to visit.

Featuring a variety of stones and design variations, the Alhambra is a versatile and enchanting collection. It has also been known to capture the attention of celebrities like Kate Middleton and Margot Robbie.

What’s more, the resale value of a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra piece is pretty decent. Although the price can vary depending on the style, it typically retains about 85 percent to 100 percent of its retail value. There are a variety of reasons for this, including the fact that it’s a unique and sought after design.

However, there’s one piece of jewelry that’s been around for much longer and remains a top pick for resale shoppers. That item is the four-leaf clover, and it’s a design that’s been a part of the company’s catalog since 1928. Moreover, the four-leaf clover is one of the most important design pillars of the brand.

Not only does the four-leaf clover have a history, it’s a well-known fact that the four-leaf clover is a lucky symbol. Hence, it makes sense that the aforementioned piece is a signature talisman for the French brand. Besides being a well-known symbol of luck, the four-leaf clover plays an integral role in the iconic Van Cleef & Arpels necklace.

Other notable talismans include the Perlee, an engraved jewelry piece stamped with the brand’s signature. And the aforementioned La Boutique collection, a collection of semi-precious stones that turned heads decades ago.

Van Cleef & Arpels, a French luxury jewelry company, has been designing and creating bespoke jewelry for royalty and celebrities since its establishment in 1850. The brand has made jewelry for Empress Farah Pahlavi of Iran, Princess Grace of Monaco, and the Duchess of Windsor. Although the designs are often copied, only genuine Van Cleef & Arpels pieces are truly authentic.

The Alhambra is one of the most iconic designs of the company. The motif is inspired by a four-leaf clover. The first version of the design was introduced in the Swinging Sixties and has been updated several times. Each decade has featured a new stone. During its 50th anniversary, the brand created a limited-edition necklace to mark the occasion.

As the name suggests, the Alhambra is a Moorish palace in Granada, Spain. It is the only surviving royal territorial center of the Islamic Golden Age. Originally called al-qal’a al-hamra, it is named after the red walls of the building. This is also the name of the Arabic word for “red fort.” Besides the necklace, the Alhambra is also the inspiration behind the Van Cleef & Arpels VCARO3Y600 watch. Designed with a rose gold case, this watch features a white dial and a black satin strap. At the center, the watch features a Roman numeral and index hour markers. In addition to the Alhambra motif, the watch also features a quartz movement.

Since its inception, the Alhambra has been an instant symbol of elegance. It is one of the most popular ornaments and has been worn by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Kate Middleton, and Princess Grace of Monaco. Moreover, the Alhambra collection is constantly being updated. For example, in the early 1990s, the brand reinterpreted the Alhambra by incorporating a milky chalcedony gemstone into the design. Also, the brand launched the Pure Alhambra creations in 2001.
